The replicas are so cheap because they have fitment issues and come unpainted. What you save on the initial purchase of the knock-off part, you will pay for in the form of work that a body shop needs to do in order to get it on your car correctly. It actually could turn out to be even more expensive than purchasing the OEM JDM rear bumper in the first place.

Maybe the fitment issues they are talking about is the modifying that is needed to the stock crash bar and license plate holder that Jdm bumpers have?? But I will most likely get an authentic one to avoid taking any further fitment issues.

Can someone explain the license plate bracket issue?

The crash bar issue I understand. I will have a body shop just cut off the spacers between the feet and have it re-welded to the crash beam.

The fitment issues are unfortunately separate from the crash beam modification or removal

So far, driveline sounds pretty good!

Burklow, you don't need an aftermarket exhaust to put this bumper on. If you go to the show and shine section and look at one of the stickies about which exhaust looks best with the jdm bumper you will see someone with the stock exhaust. It looks just fine to me.
Happy to hear it.

+1. There is a thread on this in the show and shine section. I will see if I can pull it up. One of my customers did a test with both. Once they were side by side you can really see the difference between the two. After a short amount of time, the replica cracked and was unable to be fixed.

The price difference between the usdm replica of the jdm bumper from j's aero and the bumper from driveline is like less than 160 bucks. Well the color I need has to be repainted anyway since I have a bby. I'm prolly leaning toward the bumper from driveline just for peace of mind.

I purchased my JDM rear from SPEED ELEMENT. Very fast shipping, tracking, and communication. Product was perfect.

I was able to reuse the shipping material to sell and ship my US spec bumper.

DriveLine or Gruppe-s.

Try to ask them to check other shipping companies, hopefully it can save some of your money. Shipping cost kills.
