help buying 04 evo
It is a 2004 silver evo with 47,744 Miles. I am not sure if it has any mods. The dealership wants 27k for it, but my friend can most likely get it for 18k (around what they traded it in for) plus it has been on the lot for a while so they want to get rid of it. I just want to know if it seems like a good buy, and what i should look for when buying it? Also is there any maintenance required coming up on the millage? I have been looking around for a g35 for awhile, but I like the evo a lot more.

the mark up is high because they took it in on a trade and they ended up paying more for it then they intended on. ( mark up is always crazy on cars that are hard to find used at dealerships down here) They have had it on the lot for awhile and now just want to get rid of it. My best friend is one head managers at the dealership so he can get be the lowest price on the car.
Is there any problems the evos have with their transmissions or engines under 80k?

I just bought my 05 SSL Evo VIII for $22,000 and it has only 34K miles. Asking $27,000 for that car is just ridiculous. $18,000 would be a good deal for you, but I would refuse to pay more than $20,000-$22,000.
If the dealer wanted 27k....and since your buddy works their.....your going to get it for what they took as a trade in at 18k....I highly doubt that will happen.
Unless your buddy walks around with the dealership owners junk in his rear all day....my guess is you will never own that car for less than 22k. IMO thats not bad anyway, but 18k is just a pipe dream.
