It may be your input shaft bearing. I am noticing lot of people are getting confused between this and the deathwhine. Not saying its your problem, but I have a bad input shaft bearing. It sounds the same as a t/c. The only way to tell the difference is, you can hear the i/s bearing whining slightly when not moving with the clutch out. When the clutch pedal is pushed in it goes away. T/c wont whine if the car isnt moving.
Just my thoughts for ya since I cant actually here the car.

I'm well aware of what it is, I've heard it mentioned thousands of times on here and many other automotive forums over the past few years by people who got their law degrees at Phoenix Online. One thing I've never seen is someone that's been able to use it to their advantage. It didn't benefit stew in a similar situation where his motor had grenaded. Have you seen an instance where its worked? I haven't.
Here's a tip....if they fix ur car three times for the same part that means you can lemon law it. If you lemon law it the dealer is screwed, so they told you that its normal so they dont have to fix it the third time. I would contact a lawyer to at least write you up a letter saying that if they plan on not warrantying an obvious issue because they are afraid of the lemon law then that is going to get them a lawsuit. They'll change their tune.
Brilliant!
OK, one good account noted.
wrong...my motor grenaded twice...fixed twice!! second time whole new one...Mitsu agreed to giveme a whole new car, but then decided they had done enough and would just replace motor since car was modded.......then I got the hell outta Mitsu's BS and Evo SOLD!! I sure do miss my BEAST tho.....

I haven't because the dealership has been attempting to fix it. I wanted to give them a chance, but now I have a couple of options.
A) I claim Lemon Law. However, I have concerns that this is NOT a quick process and I am not sure what I would get for my car.
B) Have independent mechanics diagnose the problems (verifying it is the transfer case) and bring it to Mitsubishi via arbitration in hopes that they fix it.
