quick boost gauge question

right now i have a glowshift boostgauge that came with my car when i bought it....im looking to replace it. wat are the chances i can just cut the wires directly off the back of this gauge and quick splice the wires on my new gauge? bc this wud be a lot easier than pulling my dash off...it seems like it wud work? but then again im by no means an expert..worth a try?

I did this with an autometer boost guage and i have had no problems with mine. just make sure you cut a tad bit off of the boost line and then recrimp it with the new brass fittings that come with your new guage to ensure that there are no leaks. Just my 2 cents...
