40-160 mph 1.6 seconds :D

So i was cruisin along and got the urge to get on it a bit well i shifted to second then my speedometer shot up hella fast to 160 and just bounces around but its putin more miles on my car then there realy is anyone know where i can get a new speed sensor for a good deal? thanks

Lol just picture this... When he's cruising at say 35 mph and decides to barely get on it, it burries the needle! Lol the bad part is, is that the miles rack up like CRAZY!! Haha

so are you saying that if you drive for an hour, would your odometer add 160 miles? Or is it just the speedo that's f-ed up?

Sounds like the speed sensor is messed up so.... that means...

He's really doing 50mph but the speedo thinks he's doing 160 mph. Which means that if he drove for 10 hrs for example that instead of putting 500 miles on his odometer, it would put 1600 miles on it.

How could this be? I thought that all cars had a speed sensing gear in the tranny and all it does is count revolutions of the output shaft based on gear... Then applies this to the computer and it relays to the dash.
