Alernator Problems
Alternator Problems
Something has gone terribly wrong with my alternator. After starting the car, it will only hold 12 volts. If I turn anything on, the voltage drops drastically. When I turn the electronics off, the voltage slowly climbs, but never reaches 12. The voltage just slowly drops with nothing else on. What should I do?
btw: I have checked all the wires and the connections are still good. I also have a battery reloctation kit, so will mitsu still cover it under warranty?

Check all of your connections first. It may be something silly. If it is the alternator, rather than take hours to get it out, take it to Mitsu and see what they think. Maybe you'll get lucky.
Dropping voltage is a bad sign though and it seems the symptoms are an alternator.

if its not covered under warrenty try replacing it yourself, i just did mine, took about 4 hours and theres a real good write up here on the forum, its a pain in the rear but the dealerships will rob you on a replacement.
