I want to trade my TBIX for a different color!!!

how should i go about this? I have a 2006 TB 9 with 23,000 miles on it.It is bone stock other then a borla cat-back a TT dp and a brand new kenwood headunit. It is in perfect condition except on the driver side door where some a-hole decided to key it for no reason.I can have that repainted for pretty cheap though.I wish i had a different color evo instead of black.what is the best way to go about this without having to pay any extra money?Do you guys think i could find someone who has another color and wants a black one?i would like a EB,WW or RR. My car has never even been launched,or tracked. If you have some good ideas let me know.mY My evo is paid off,so i also have that to work with.Thank You

I would paint it. You know your car. You won't know the history on a new car. Also, registration costs would just add cost to the deal.

Painting it is prob your best bet. That way you keep the car you know and love, and get the color you want with good paint not just the crappy mitsu paint.

+1 for painting. I love my GG MR, I really do, but sometimes I see a WW MR and I love those to, though there are a TON of WW and not so many GG, so I like that.

that is a good idea to paint it.How much do you guys think it would cost to put some good quality paint on it?including painting the engine bay and door jams, everything so you couldnt tell it was black? anyone know a person in socal that works at a paint shop and will do side jobs?

It can vary so much that no one here can give you an actual answer.

Call around, look at some reviews of the body shops in your area, go in there see how their facility looks and is setup, get estimates, etc.

+1 on painting it, like everyone said you know your car. If your car is paid off consider getting a small loan to get it painted with a good shop.

Your going to have to sell it, and buy another one. I dont think anyone is going to "trade" you.

I would rather spend $$$$ on a good paint job then running the risk of buying an Evo that is supposed to be bone stock but isn't.

If you were closer, I'd consider trading my RR VIII for your TB IX, but I just can't stay away from having a red car.

I'm in the same boat. I love my TB, but hate keeping it looking good. I always wanted a WW, but eveytime I clean my car I fall in love again. If it's ever in an acccident I'll repaint it snow camo, but I'm not going to do any paintwork if it stays in great shape.
