All of the car magazines love the Subaru Impreza. It was one of Car & Driver's 10 Best Cars and it also got raves when it was in the long term test fleet.

The Evo and the STI both came out since the last 10 Best list and they are both better than the Impreza. Most magazines acknowledge the superior power and speed of the STI over the Evo, but the Evo still gets voted #1 in all-around competition.

So...Do you think the Evo will be called one of the 10 Best Cars?

FYI, the other nine are Acura RSX, Ford Focus, Audi A4, Honda Accord, Honda S2K, BMW M3, BMW 540 and the Corvette.

I think the Evo will definitely be in... Too bad the 3-series will continue lag through there, 99% of which are driven by poseurs...

people are biased a lot of the time. if they get and evo then "evos are better then imprezas" if they get the wrx for sti or whatever, then its vice versa. most magazine gives it to you straight. the evo wins over all since it has great handleing and other things while the sti is powerful and has better interior. but i will definatly say BOTH cars will be in there.

I doubt it. But I wouldn't doubt it if the STI gets in.

My guess on the 10? Honda Accord, Porsche Boxster, BMW 3-series (incl. M3), Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Audi A4, Subaru WRX STi, Volvo S60R/V70R, Infiniti G35 sedan/coupe, Nissan 350Z and Maxima.

We'll see.

i dont think none of them will be in the list, mostly because the cars are ether echonomic, luxury, power to price ratio, looks and interiour. The evo/Sti both have the power part but lack MPG, interiour, luxuries. Most Americans arent looking for what the evo and sti have to offer. There looking for the cheapest luxury/echo they can find. This is why the RSX and accord are on the list.

so why the WRX then David? This car slots nicely to knock the WRX off the list this year.

I think the Acura RSX, Ford Focus, and BMW 540 are in danger of not making the next list.

The G35, Maxima, Boxster, S60R, and 350Z already had their shot this year.

I think the Evo, 350Z Roadster, and maybe the Acura TSX could make the next one. The only thing that will hold the 350Z Roadster off is the Honda S2000 winning again. The Corvette might be the only "domestic" to remain. I don't remember if the Cadillac XLR will be out in time to be eligible.

Didn't Car&Driver already publish their 10 Best for this year?....

Because the Evo wasn't in it. It wasn't even nominated.

Or are you talking about the next 10 Best?

Probly cuz wrx has a good power to price ratio, indash cd changer, not bad interior. When sti doesnt come with a radio, interior isnt all that bad but for long trips both the evo and the sti will get ur bottom to hurt. Also i dont think WRX's are as stiff as STi's and probly not as noisie

The 10 Best list usually comes out at the end of the year. I am way behind on my magazines and I just cracked open the mid-year 10 Best issue with the stories in it. That's why I started the thread.
