"No way in H*LL", I'd buy that car for an actual driving car..

I would however, buy it for all the spare parts and have an engine, tranny, ACD, etc..
But definately not for 16K, maybe for 10k at most..

No, that's not the one that was mentioned before.. his wasn't an MR... just an SE.

I'd pass on that, unless you were just going to make a major project/track car. They never seem to be the same after an accident like that.

My $.02

To give you a good barometer, salvage title vehicles are worth roughly 25% less, everything else being equal(meaning it doesn't need repair).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Evo a uni-body car? If it's requiring repair in the trunk area, I would think it's structural, and maybe the reason why the seller isn't doing it. Both cost involved, and the possible resulting sacrificed integrity of the car.

Salvage titles are a usual bargain or hidden tragedy

Oh and I could use a spare set of wheels for my winter tires. The seller probably could have made more money if they didn't waste anything trying to repair the car and just sold the parts.

Looks like the vehicle has some flood damage by the discoloring of the seats and the back window tape job.

Sucks that that happened to an MR SE. It also looks like either flood or rain damage by the look of the engine bay and interior. It was possibly left outside open, but could have seen some flood.

Also crazy how its welded just in front of the rear wheels on the lower door portions. I'd say bad news. Might be OK to turn into a crazy track car but probably not the best idea for a DD or someone strapped for cash.

the water might be from sitting out side in an insurance lot after it got smashed up. from personal experience in the used car business that evo is just useful for parts cause the amount of frame damage that thing took can't possibly be fixed.

Salvage title are fine for econo-box daily drivers.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a salvaged sports car unless you are parting it out.
