Evo Question...? (NOOB)

Hey, would a evo get messed up if it rained or if i sprayed water on the vent on the hood of the car. wouldnt the water get all over the engine a mess it up or fry it? (see pic) and i was also wondering if the car would get messed up if it were driving in the rain and the intercooler took in water.

no, you can take that metal piece out, many people do. including myself.

5 years 6 evo's and i have yet to have a problem with any of them from removing the metal screen.

intercoolers DO NOT suck anything in, there sealed.

just re - read your post, i thought you wanted to know if you could remove it. but your question was just re-guarding water getting in THROUGH the hood vent.

many people take that piece out so that it disperses / releases more heat.

no, not at all, as long as it is not excessive.

it doesnt suck anything "IN" it just passes air through it.

its in the front of your car so that ambient air cools the entire unit making it cooler than the piping in the engine bay. then the air is passed from one side of it to the other. nothing is sucked in from the outside just sealed pipes on each end of it.
