EBAY HID KIT Question

HEy Guys,

i currently own a 2003 8 with the factory HID kit, so i recently noticed a ballast was shot and am looking for a new kit, so i searched ebay and found tons of kits from Xenon ect. and they are only like $50?? heres a link to one, does this seem legit????? just figured id throw it out there before i make the purchase to see if anyone else has gotten HID of off ebay and how there experience went. Thanks so much!

I heard ebay HID kits were as good as gold.

I think you can probably get a used one on here if you search hard enough.

I have the GSR and I fitted the HID housing on there. You'll have to find something to cover up the hole underneath the housing.

The OEM ballast covers this hole so you'll have to come up with something.

The ebay ones I've dealt with are a crapshoot... sometimes they last as long as OEM yet sometimes they will burn out next week!

yeah most of the ebay ones will work, but not for long, all the ones iv seen in person only last a few months, you gotta think anything made by a 9 year old kid in a sweatshop isnt gonna be to good

$50 for an HID kit and you will be looking to change parts regularly. Better buy 3 one time. I sell Tech1 HID kits at my work and they are as low as I will go in terms of quality and they are about $150. Have been selling them for a couple years and have only changed a couple bulbs and ballasts on customers cars.

Cheap ones are not worth it IMO considering the wiring involved and the danger/inconvenience of blowing a bulb etc in the middle of driving, esp. somewhere dark. Plus some ballasts only work properly with the bulb they were made with/for and therefore swapping parts with different manufacturers later is not recommended.
