What to look for when buying an EVO

I plan on getting an EVO 8 next spring. Other then the regular things to look at when buying a car, what should i be looking for on an EVO so as to not have to be repairing it as soon as i get it. I tried looking for regular "problems" when it comes to the EVO, but couldn't find a specific thread which contained the information i was looking for. Also, what are the major weak points of an EVO 8, more specifically the 03's and 04's because i'll probably be getting on of those.

Tranny+ t-case were revised in 05' because they both pretty much sucked... Otherwise mostly cosmetic issues

Above all else look for stock, stock, stock and avoid any signs of being "put back to stock" or otherwise molested.

on the 8 also check to see if you can adjust the ac because dirt gets in there and makes it to where you cannot adjust it

stock clutch is a very good thing indicator of how the car was driven and check for low compression/low fluid levels which gives you an idea of how well the car was taken care of
