gauge pod question

i just recieved my gauge pod from lancershop yesterday. i was curious, do the A pillar pods need to be trimmed? i tried making mine fit without trimming and it did not fit. also the description say the pod will completely replace the stock drivers side A-pillar. i sent the link to show which one i bought

http://lancershop.com/customer/produ...&cat=22&page=1

any help would be great

thanks
dan

If it's like my triple gauge pod...it doesn't replace it, it mounts right over it and then you screw or fasten it to the factory one. You remove the factory tweeter cover if you have that and put it on the new one, and then mount it all over the original pillar.

Mounted over the factory one.

From what I read from your link, it doesn't look like you need to trim the new gauge pod pillar. It said that it completely replaces the pillar. I don't think you need to trim it since they sell you the item "ready-made" and it fits the Evo like a stock item. Don't take offense to this question, but are you putting the new pillar upside down?

Mounted over the factory one.
My single gauge pod was screwed/drilled in also....But from the look of the picture on lancershop, the new gauge pillar completely replaces the stock A-pillar.

It's the exact same one ordered from lancershop, only triple and not dual.

I'm guessing yours came with a little screw? I used a thumbscrew that holds and looks better.

Take a razor or exacto knife, cut the two little plastic pieces holding it in to the pillar....be gentle, then just use a plastic glue to mount it on the new one.
