So who all has done this?

Hey guys... So I've had my Evo IX for a little over a year now, and i'm finally modding it. Just put in a BR 3 inch exhaust, intake filter, and most importantly LICP from buschur as well. So I was leaving Ashland Ohio and heading up to Cleveland for the night. Jumped on the on-ramp and decided to stretch its legs a little. When i was in 2nd around 6500 rpm... i hear a loud *BOOM* come from the right front corner of the engine bay. I guess i didn't tighten it enough... because that LICP shot off, thank god i put the undertray back on the day before. So what i'm getting at, is i was wondering who else had to take their undertray and front bumper off on the side of the highway to (or do any work on their car for that matter) re-mod your car?

The moral of my story is... check all your screws, twice!

I've never had to do it on the side of the highway (knocks on wood) but I have had to do it close to my house after I installed my uicp and licp.

next time something like that happens, unplug the maf sensor and the car will drive, take it home and then put it back on.

had my upper pipe blow off a few times. now all intercooler piping is secured by t-bolt clamps so that should (knock on wood) keep things on..

My stock UICP popped off at a race a few days ago. Kinda scary when the loud boom happens, but it's all good

Happen to my me a couple of times with my UICP popping off. Happen on the interstate and had to drive on the side of the road to the nearest gas station to buy a screw driver to screw it back in. Learned my lesson big time.

My UICP came off of the TB on the way home from work one day. Didn't scare me...I was more upset thinking "I just broke my beautiful EVO" and "wow...my EVO doesn't look so tuff broke on the side of the road." So I put my cell to my ear to make it look like I pulled over to talk on the phone...LOL

not that exact same thing, but i did my brakes a while back. Later that night I went to visit the parents and randomly my mom asks me for a ride, so of course i took the opportunity to scare the **** outa her, lol. I did a pull through 4th, she got scared, of course. Then we go to make the corner back home and the rear of my car slides out like im driftin....WTF! I go look at it, all the lugs are about 3/4 off! I guess i checked all the lugs BUT that wheel. 1st time thats ever happened to me, itll be the last time FOR SURE!

Yeah stupid crap like that happens from time to time. It sucks for sure.

You could use T-bolt clamps on all of pressurized connections to try to help it from doing it. You just have to do all of them or else you would find the next weakest connection.

So how do you like all the upgrades so far Nick?
