Launch Control problem

I've searched a lot of threads and I know the subject has been gone over 1000 times, but I have a little bit of a unique problem I think.

I've read my Rom and my stationary rev limit is at 5500 rpms, but when I put the clutch and the gas down in 1st gear at a stop, it just goes all the way to redline. I may be doing it wrong, because I haven't had my car long. Its an '06 Evo IX RS. Just wondering some problems that might cause this if I am indeed doing it correctly.

Mine does not 2 step either. Mellon flash 2 step doesn't work....went on the dyno with Dynoflash 2 step doesn't work either. So after testing the wheel speed sensors they checked out and the clutch switch is working as well it has to be something with the computer itself. I will investigate that if it does not work once I get an AEM installed.-JOEYD

It should work. I'm sure your car is in a flat road when doing this right? Anyways, put the car in 1st gear with clutch in, rev to about 5500 rpm and you should hear a pop pop sound. You don't need to go past that. If you do, you're doing it wrong and just reving to high.

you don't need the parking brake on.

you have to be on a flat surface. Anykind of incline will disable it.

Are you easing into the gas, or just punching it?

i have mine set at 5000. works just fine. just can't be moving at all. if you are moving, it will be considered above 0 speed and then default to what your redline is set too. no need for E-brake and doesn't matter if you slam the pedal or ease into it. I using my tune with EcuFlash

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
If its higher than 5000 its been reflashed. It was turned on for all Evos (MR, RS, GSR) from 2005 up. 03/04s have it but it was set beyond the redline.

Check the clutch switch to make sure it gets fully pushed in. Means you need to get upside down in the footwell and move the clutch and make sure it fully pushes the switch down.

there is a little pin that the clutch pedal pushes in when depressed, attached to the pin in a sensor or something, sometimes this can come unplugged. Check that, quick question, can you start your car w/o pushing the clutch in?
