i got my rear window broken one time. middle of the night guy went thru everything in my car didn't take anything tho. not even my 500 dollar radar detector. weird. everything was all over the place. cost me roughly 150 to replace the glass. but thats with mechanic shop discount. and labor didn't cost me cuz my friend put it in also. i could have went thru insurance but not worth the hassle cuz it was so cheap only a glass and my insurance would have went up. and they might replace it with aftermarket glass and not oem.

Its a pretty easy job replacing the windows just time consuming. Take the panel off then theres two bolts holding the window to the tract. Take off those two bolts and take out the old window. Lower the tract to the bottom, there should be two spaces on the bottom of the door where there are holes where you can reach into. Line up the new window and drop it down till the holes on the window reaches the door holes where you can reach into and just bolt it on.

deegaw11, save yourself some money and do it yourself. Shops will usually charge you anywhere between 1.0 hours and 1.8 hours. Realistically, the window replacement should take you about an hour total. To remove the door panel and install the new glass will take about 20 minutes or so. Cleaning the glass from every corner and crevice in your door will take you the remaining 40 minutes. Don't forget all the broken glass pieces that's now stuck in your runchannel (run a vacuum cleaner along the runchannel while you follow along with a screwdriver to force the glass pieces out). And just when you think that you've got all the glass out, slam shut the door and listen as more glass falls to the bottom of your door. Not too bad of a job though. Make sure you wear surgical gloves so you don't cut yourself too bad. Oh, don't forget to clean your regulator too.

Where in NYC did it happen?
I've been BB gunned and broken into, in and around Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
I have full coverage for glass, and had it done thru Allstate affiliates.
It can easily be done yourself if you can get the glass. (side windshields)
I feel your pain man

Rear window? Or rear side window? I heard the rear window (with hole in it for wiper) was around $700.

someone probably wants to learn more about the car so that they can steal it. because i had the same thing happen to my f250 diesel. and then a month later someone tried to steal it. so id be on the watch out and keep a close eye on your car

wtf?

owners manual is worthless anyway... if it tells you something you dont know then you are missing something.
