Evo 8's Or Evo 9 MR?

Ok guys, this question kind of determines on what car i will be getting, so far this is what i can briefly understand both cars have, unless i read wrong.

Evo 8 - (Non-MR)
A smaller turbo then the 9, less hp
Includes HID's & Fog lights
NO ACD system
5 Spd
Altezza tail light design or The full red tailight

Evo 9 MR
Bigger turbo, more hp
Includes HID's & Fogs
ACD
6 Spd (dual clutch?)
Different tail light design (Black inside with amber signal)

i know theres more...but as of right now this is what the big differences hit me..im slowly reading on evo's more and more each day at home (& in class lol)

Basically my question comes down to this..i want a white evo very badly, but should i just save up and buy an Evo 8 (mid range 19-20k), then respray it? Or am i better off, saving up for the silver MR i found for 23,999?

Don't forget the "super-reliable" open-type front diff on the 2003 Evo's!

Evo 8 - (Non-MR)
A smaller turbo then the 9, less hp
Includes HID's & Fog lights - only ssl and mr models have hids and fogs
NO ACD system - some evo 8s have acd just not early production years
5 Spd
Altezza tail light design or The full red tailight - full red tails are jdm vii tails

Evo 9 MR
Bigger turbo, more hp - larger compressor housing still a 16g turbo
Includes HID's & Fogs - only ssl and mr models have hids and fogs
ACD
6 Spd (dual clutch?) - 6 speed no dual clutch
Different tail light design (Black inside with amber signal) - those are jdm mr tails - stock ix tails are black inside though

i know theres more...but as of right now this is what the big differences hit me..im slowly reading on evo's more and more each day at home (& in class lol)

05 Evo 8s have ACD and the same hotside as the 2006s. HIDs are an option with the SSL package.

Basically it goes like this: if you are going to buy an 8, get a 2005. If you can afford a 9, go for it. MR 6speed means you have a weaker tranny. If you plan to go out and make big power (450+), then the 6speed becomes a point of failure.

IMHO, 2005 Evo8 SSL is the best of all worlds, but maybe that's just because I have one

WRONG ^ Im damn near 450 whp with NO issues dont spread misinformation, and to the OP you should go to the newbies section and do some homework.

I swear people sign up under different screen names just to ask stupid questions and start some ****

i apologize if this was an inconvience, this wasn't actually a stupid question to me seeming i keep reading online that the mr's had a dual clutch on the ix model, and the 8's had stock fogs and hids. so this actually cleared up somethings.

well anyway thank you all for answers..most likely im going to try and get an evo 8 model since it will be the cheapest

I'm not exactly "nice" to my 6 speed, and it's still flawless at 63,000 miles. I'm putting down 386/352 to the wheels.

the only department a six speed lacks in is road course abuse...

forth gear has been known to have overheating issues

and obviously it's a disadvantage in a drag format
