Question How many Evo models

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.

How many different models of Evo will be available in US? I know there's an RS and GSR abroad. Will they be available here too?

no one could for sure answer your question, no official press release had been made by mitsu yet... my guess is we'll get the GSR and the GT-A just coz the american market loves automatic

Well if you read enough post in here you will find that there are as many answers to that question as there are members in the forum. No one knows what we are going to get. The best has provided is under $30K and 250+hp. rumors go all over the place between EVO VII, EVO VIII, GSR, RSII, and GT-A .

I personally hope we will get a version of the GSR or RSII with the following options:

Brembo brakes
Recaro seats
HID lamps

for under $30k

But there are these other options that could send the price close to $40K:

coffee can exhaust
curbfeelers (available in gold or platinum)
gold package
13" dayton wheels
20" neeper wheels
standard EVO VII spoiler
mega big *** spoiler
more carbon fiber than you can shake a stick at interior trim
fart sensing air freshner
neon lighting
8 track tape player with navigation system

Fart sensing air freshener, how have I lived this long without one? Do you think will sell them as a dealer installed option for cars not equiped from the factory.

No I don't think so. Good thing is that the fart sensing air freshner is available in the *** smells like roses package with 13" daytons, Vinyl top, and curb feelers.

The only bad thing is that the package is only available with the metalic brown and tan color options.

Question Release date?

I have heard some different time periods for when the Evo VII is supposed to be released, but I haven't heard any hard dates. Does anyone know some basic time periods? I would appreciate any help that you can give me. Thanks!

first its going to be an EVO VIII. second i think all we are going to get is the GT-A and the RS/GSR. GT-A for the people who simply want the car cause its different, and that i think will sell for around 21k base. as for the RS/GSR it will be the car with the ACD and AYC and all the other sporty functions and that will sell for more, my guess is around 26k - 30k base price. As for the release date i would look for the car to hit the show rooms around January considering they have a bid for a Super Bowl commerical. Now these are not facts but merely my educated guess as to what plans to do.

I would really hope that is what Mitsu plans to do because they need to keep the car sub 30 or elso many people won't buy it.

i thought they just lowered the prices overseas. you can get an EVO in Japan for $25k, hell you can get a US conversion now for $45k. the base price on a US WRX is 24k, and thats the market that is aiming for. so the final price will be below 30k, unless you want some added goodies.

I believe I read it @ Autoweek online. The tentative sales date for the Evo VII is Jan. of 2003 for under $30k. However, I doubt dealers will let any go for under $30k (remember, the viper with msrp of 40k typically sold for $60k-$80k). With the wrx typically going for about $24k I have high hopes for the Evo VII.

well i keep hearing from people....(I work at a mitsu dealership)

that it will be 29.999 u know...under 30

so that's what I'm betting on, and it makes sense if you think about the goodies it BETTER come with

other wise....I think I"ll have to import one or pick up a skyline
