Way off topic, but I think the record for an ETS EVO kit is around 1400hp isn't it? I'd not call that "generic".

There are absolutely crappy tail lights sold on Ebay AND elsewhere. The trick is figuring out which are which.

My ebay lights just came in today and I will post pics if I have time. They look decent and have ESDEPO on the lower corner of the lens. I didn't get the light depo one because the amber looks yellowish to me where as these look like the real ones.

Generic taillights DO NOT have DOT stamp on it. Stop spreading false rumors.

Put both JDM and these generic taillights side by side for comparsion, you can definitely tell the quality differences. STOP KIDDING YOURSELF

For anyone who stumbles across this thread trying to research the eBay JDM tail lights.

I just got a pair today. The top seal on the pair that I reveived was very sloppy, Instead of a nice clean border between the clear and the black, there is a smearing of the silicone (?) sealing bead.

Compared to the OEM's, it's horrible. I'll try to get some good pic'sto post before I reseal the box to return them.

Other guys have gotten these and haven't had this problem. I can't believe that they just didn't notice it. Must be a quality control issue.

It's a shame because otherwise they are pretty ok for the price, but they just look horrible along the top edge. Totally ghetto mod looking (and really the bottom too, but you wouldn't see that part once installed.

eBay JDM Tail lights

get them at your own risk, I wish they would have worked out for me.

OEM products are supposed to pass some kind of inspection for quality and safety. Of course eBay products are going to come out bad because they don't need to pass anything. Put it together and ship it out.

Depo as a company actually has stepped their game up in the last few year. Their quality on their light equipment is as good as OEm in my experience. That being said the above poster appears to have gotten a bad set who was the brand.

I bought some Depo tails for 200 and sold my OEM tails for about the same price. I'll take pics and post them here and post the quality when I get them in a few days,

Unless you have actual concrete proof that the non-JDM tails are not up to par - don't post.

The "JDM is mad tyte yo" comments will be deleted on sight.

Thanks.

I wish that they had worked out. As I said, other than the seam at the top, (which is very visible on the oems, so this seam will also show on the ebay lights) ... Otherwise, they looked good enough for me.

The bottom seams would not have shown, once installed, I could have lived with that.

I was certain that if anything like this had been an issue before, someone would have blown the whistle a long time ago, so I felt totally comfortable.

I could see where is might not be as apparent on a White or Silver car, but on a darker car, the smeared seams really stick out. I held them up to my (Red) cars tails light area and it was pretty visible.

I hope is was just my case, but the truth is the truth. They looked hacked up, like someone had tried to do an EvoDave -style JDM conversion but screwed it up. I will post the pictures soon. Just busy right now.

Good luck to anyone who rolls the dice and decides to try them.
Just go in with your eyes open.
