600 HP EVO Viii !!! - getting there
Though he is not humble, his setup is further along than mine - and for that there is respect. 557whp is more than 100whp than me; there is no denying how cool it would be to drive around daily on even pump gas with that setup (and still be running a safe a/f ratio).
I will say this - I "jokingly" said this thread should be called the 557hp thread, and I received a not-so-nice PM from Al.
Al - you need a vacation, a hooker, something. If you don't relax you're going to pop. I can tell you are wound up; I've never seen so many grammatical errors from someone in the legal profession in all my life. You must be churning out these messages two steps ahead of your brain. Just friendly advice - quit worrying about esteem from strangers. Build a setup that fits you and let people know about it without burning bridges.
Oh and let's all put this into perspective - this is NOT the ideal car for a drag setup. My '02 Mustang GT ran low 11's on a $4500 investment. There are MANY mustangs in the 10's and even 9's that are daily drivers. Same for LS1 cars. It's cool what you're accomplishing, but not earth shattering.

I don't know Al from anywhere but his posts on this board and NASOIC. Its funny because they are all about the same, him bragging about his latest expense , how much HP he put down or his most recent1/4 mile time...whatever.Go do a search over on NASIOC. You will see many threads just like this. Only most over there cant stand him.They pretty much ran him off. Thats probably why he got an EVO, so he could find a new board to try and make himself famous on.
If it was just some rich dude on these boards telling people about their up-grade path or trying to help people out, that would be one thing, but to come across as" Look at me and how fast my EVO is. Look at how much money I can spend" Give it a break man. How insecure are you?
To be fortunate enough to have nice cars and live well is one thing, but to be arrogant and egotistical. Its just uncalled for.
Wow this got out of control. Enkei, cash in your food stamps elsewhere. Al has the money to do it, most dont, we like to see him do it and I dont care how many times he posts. Hes got it, we dont, hes doing it and besides, regardless of how many dollars spent, few have the desire to spend the dollars on a car, much less an Evo which hasn't thrilled sports car owners for a while. Do you own an Evo? If not, please disperse.

I think you guys have no idea what it takes to make your car the FASTEST
Its not about $$$ so there is NO where you can buy a EVO like mine - - at this point NO one is the US is doing cars like this
Secondly - even if you had the $$$ - to find a shop to do this - they would have to basically stop everything they were doing and concentrate excclusively on your car for weeks - - not very likely
Third - the reality is you can't BUY a set up like mine - you have to make it yourself liek I did
Most of you guys who have no clue how to do something like this - - so youn feel better putting me down and saying I am just some rich guy who "bought" this set up
Facts are - I am NOT some rich guy - OR - I would already have a Porsche turbo - - - I have to build my own cars and although I did spend a relatively large sum on parts - most of the costs in building a car project like mine are in the development and the tuning and fabrication - 90% of which was donewith my own two hands

Frankly - while I think there are many shops out there that could make a car as fast as mine - - its my opinion that only I could make it as fast, as dependable and as streetable as mine is - all in such a short period of time
It does not matter of you agree or disagree with me - - all that matters to me is that I am the fastest and there are many others who are so called "professionals" who are trying hard to beat me and they can't - why - cause I work harder and I'm smarter

I can't beleive your blown up ego!!! I mean anyone would think that you're a moron. Why do you put down all the "lesser earning people". If I had your money flow (cash or credit) I and ANYONE would not only go faster but also cheaper. But that's not the point. The point is that there are 2 things that come with the EVOs that you haven't noticed
1-there is this 3 spoke thingie on the left hand side of the dashboard called a STEERING WHEEL. Learn to use it as this car handles amazingly!! Learn to drive the car, and I don't mean straight.
2-there are these attractive red things that go inside the wheels.These are called BREMBO brakes. They were designed to slow you down before diving into a CORNER.
If you haven't noticed the EVO is NOT a 1/4 mile drag car. Yes your times are impressive, but that's a percentage of the capabilities of this car. Another thing is that if you truly beleive that you are the best Evo specialist then you should've never let anyone else do any of the work on your car. That alone makes you a halfass tuner. DONE. Stop putting people down and you would gain much more respect. As of now your just a guy in need of attention, maybe the attention you lacked as a child?
