What has been you experience selling modified cars? At dealers for a trade in? To private parties?

Do the mods add or subtract value? Do they make it easier or harder to sell? Do you need to return it to stock to have a chance at selling it?

Just looking to the future. Thanks in advance for you input.

dont expect to get any extra money for a car that has mods, you may even get less.......do you think a bank will loan extra money for a car because someone put after market parts on it, NOPE. Your best bet would to be what has already been stated. Return it back to stok and sell the pieces on the side.

Selling a modded car is tough. Dont trade it in to the dealer, they dont give a crap about what is in it, to them its just the stock car. They check the book, and give you a price. You're better off trying to sell it yourself to someone, hopefully an enthusiast that can appreciate the car, and the work you've done(granted you've done it right). If you can sell it that way, then all the stock parts that you kept, you can selll them for a little extra change. If you can't then you'll have to part it out and put it back to stock. I had a heavily modded car that i was able to sell complete to an enthusiast. Saved me the trouble of having to convert her back to stock. Try it out, I used ebay motors to sell my car(i didnt sell it directly through there, but the buyer and I talked through e-mails and eventually sold it after the auction) Best 40 bucks I ever spent, i had over 10,000 hits on the car.

To many people, a modded car is one to be avoided. Unfortunately a large number of cars that are modded these days are just not done properly. So even if yours is better than new, you'll get no return on your investment, and in fact it is likely the car will be worth less to most. Sell your parts off on eBay or forums and sell the car as stock.
