Mods that won't void

I have an 06 Evo IX MR. I want to do mods that won't void the warranty. I am because it's an MR it will be difficult to modify. But I am told that reflasing the ECU. Putting a bigger exhaust and tuning would be a good place to start. The aim at lease in the beginning is to make the car much quicker. Any help from you EVO Maniacs would be great. Thanks, Joflm4

so why is it difficult to modify because its an mr? Btw, didn't someone tell you, once you drive off the dealership or take the keys to the car, your warranty is voided

Pretty much anything can void your warranty. It depends on the Dealership. Check with EVO owners in your area for "good" dealerships . Drop in filter and a catback are pretty safe though.

anything that has to do with additional power will void it...
Mitsubishi is strict with warranty and they usually win at the end...
I say, start moding and dont worry about the warranty

some dealers at least my area are really chill about modded evos the only thing the dealer that i go to would void the warranty for is upping the boost, big turbo, and internal work along with messing with the ecu, but basic performance upgrades such as exhaust etc they are cool with.

any mod you do will potentially void your warranty

mitsubishi will not stand behind their product once it's altered in most cases

just like everyone said...any mod will potentially void your warranty. Its sad but true. Then again it also depends if your stealership is mod friendly or not.

when you drive it off the lot after signing the paper work your warranty is void..LOL

not really, just keep the stock stuff you take off and put it back on and reflash if something big goes wrong. keep your mods to basic bolt ons and things that are easy to remove if your worried about it.

heres an example: tbe, 880cc injectors, mbc and a e85 tune = sleeper stocker looking evo. That will cost less than 1k to do. youll make a whole lot more power than before and only have to worry about a few things to change if something big goes wrong like spun bearings or transfer case.

just a warning, youll quickly become addicted to modding and never stop, then after a year, like me, you'll end up with a buschur built block, 35r, double pumper, etc etc.

luckily, Don and lewisville are mod friendly and i can bring my car in for anything not directly related to the motor. check with your dealership and find out if they are mod friendly. that should be the first step.

WORKS will back your factory warranty on any of our parts installed in your cars. Since WORKS is the factory tuner for Mitsubishi Motors North America we are able to offer this warranty to all of our customers. We sell direct to a few Mitsubishi dealers and they have no problem with our parts and their warranty. Not all dealerships are the same and one may uphold the warranty where as another may say its void. Talk to the parts manager at your local Mitsubishi dealership and see if they would like to stock WORKS performance products. That way you can add performance parts that are R&D tested and that will not void your factory warranty.
