Drying the evo

Im really thinking about getting an evo in the near future and was just wondering how bad it leaks after washing. Do you have to keep wiping around the base of the side mirrors, wing and trunk every 2-3 minutes b/c water just constantly comes out?

Hmm, not really in my experience. Noticeably better than my Eclipse.

thats why professional car wash in oversea they use pressure air to blow the water out. what i do is, I blow the water out then dry it.

but why are you concern about drying the car when you don't even have it?

if this is your only concern when thinking about buying a $30k+ car, well, hmmm... not really sure what to tell you. the place i go to blows the water out of those areas, and yet it still seems to do what you are describing. not a big deal though

I take mine up to 160 after a wash. Drys in a few minutes.

I've never had any leaking problems

Most cars are going to hold some water in crevices, panel gaps, mirrors and so forth. You can try compressed air or seriously some small electric blower then towel dry what remains...

What was said before is the best answer using compressed air to blow out the water from the seams of the body especailly if you are going to be waxing. Thats what I use to do when I used to detail cars, however I wasnt using a leaf blower just compressed air. When I wash my evo it isnt bad as long as your thorough with drying it.

I use my shop vac. After I wash the car I normally vacuum it out too, so I just suck all the water out. Works a lot better then compressed air... just make sure you dont scratch the paint.

Is this a deciding factor in your future car purchase? If so, the manufacturers may need to start considering this in the design of their cars...
