brake lights

brake lights

need some help,
when i am driving at night and my head lights r on, my brake lights light up as if i was braking at all times. when i hit my brakes there is no difference. is this a short somewhere? need help

brake light switch? you could check under there and make sure its not stuck

disconnect the break light switch. If your 3rd light still comes on then you have a short.

Most likely the short will be local in/or around close to the switch.

Any other short i have noticed will burn up the fuse and throw out the license plate lights. or the parking lamps.

wow, i am absolutely puzzled. i had a brake light out which cause all the problems..i am still lost of words

Check the new bulb you installed. It's either the wrong type, or installed backwards (too lazy to check which bulb it takes, but dual filament bulbs can only be installed in one position, you can install them 180 degrees out, but you have to force it in place). What's happening is the marker light circuit is now powering your brake light filament in the incorrect bulb.

I know this is a little off topic, but I was searching a could not find anything but was wondering what it meant if my parking break light wont go off when even when i put the break down anyone know why that is?

Start a new thread as your issue has nothing to do with his. I find it hard to believe you couldn't find this searching considering how many bajillion threads there are asking the same question.

99% chance your brake fluid is low. 99% chance that is because your brake pads are getting low. I'm pretty sure this is in your owner's manual.
