its good that he stole the badge and not something else, i would worry about it.. just got debadged, thats what i am going to do in a week or two

I would contact bjs and see if they have any cameras outside.
Might be able to catch who did it.

I would also replace the badge and try buffing out some of the scratches. This happened to my friends civic, he got his " SI" emblem stolen in a parking lot.

 

ahahaha that badge will end up on the back of some ricers celica with tribal graphics and a GTR emblem next to it....i tried to post the pic but it wont upload from my phone

 

I took mine off, but keep it on my desk at home. Cool memento. If I were you I would actually buy one and leave it off.

 

yeahdebadge it way cleaner. unless you want everyone know you drive a evo. i know its an evo so i debadged mines.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. Checked with BJs, unfortunately, no camera (catching them would have given me some satisfaction).

Checked with the dealer - $58 (expensive for a piece of plastic). However, I am going to follow the advice of K2baorder3187...
If it happens again, I'll go stealth.

By the way, for those who live in Westchester County - the last of the Westchester dealers closed - Yonkers Mitsubishi followed Yorktown Mitsu and White Plains Mitsu, and is now gone...

Another option is to get a vinyl decal made. I never liked the chrome lancer/evo badge on the trunk since the letters are all connected (it looks like a lump of chrome to me ) . I removed it and replaced it with badge made of silver decal. it looks super clean and stock.
In your case the "a" hole wouldn't even bother unless they're stupid.

white plains mitsu has been closed for some time now. And they were around for a long while.

Hope that doesn't mean that yonkers service center is closed. or will be.
