So im in the process of building my buddies evo9. Its gona have full boltons with meth so we ordered everything while FP made the turbo... i tried his intake and uicpon my car and loved it so kept it there and ordered it that same day..

The RED finally came in yesterday, but the intake and uicp are taking there sweet time so I put the stockers on... also found out that we forgot to order a downpipe(we've had boxes upon boxes of parts waiting in my extra room, so didnt find out about the dp until it was too late!).

So i put the car together with tbe Minus the DP...(o2 housing, tp, catback) and the RED... nothing else aftermarket.. not even a mbc

Now for the fun part! full spool at 4200rpmish, boostin 24 tapering to 21, but pulls HARD once it spools until redline... alot harder than the stock turbo at the same boost.... I took it a twisty road in the woods with a nice straightaway where i log/tune... so i do a log and was knockin good after 6k... fixed all that have no knock, but the timing im seeing from 3kuntil 4k is CRAZY! it drops into the negatives until i hit full spool and it goes back to normal, so im gonna fix that later, was just worried about knock since my buddy was aching to take his car tonite...

When I got home tho i threw on an MBC and at 23psi and holding..

So if u wanted to know what the RED did with practically NOTHING ELSE, there u go, late spool with hard pulling top end... once we put all the boltons on at the end of the week, minus the meth, i'll let u know how it goes!

All stock as in full stock exhaust, downpipe, cat, and catback? Stock intake/airbox on it?

 

it has exhaust, but the STOCK DOWNPIPE, and yes, stock intake and uicp... OH!!! forgot to mention we have SBR 3.5 inch intercooler and licp on... sorry, forgot about that... but exhuast is Invidia o2 and RRE catback with test pipe

 

LOL so by all stock you mean wastegate boost pressure (?) and stock downpipe....and lots of other mods!

 

uhh no, stock intake, uicp, dp, injectors, fuelpump....having a stock DP is like having full stock exhaust, its not makin too much power after that.. so basicly we jus have an upgraded intercooler which everyone says doesn't do a darn thing

 

Give him a break, Down pipe back exhaust and a front mount. That's still relatively stock being the car has a good front mount stock

 

so when did u order your RED and when did it come in? i oredered mine late sep and i still haven't gotten it.

 

we sent out his turbo nov 4th, it got there 2 days later.... we got it back dec.12th... if u send them ur turbo u get it in 4-5weeks... but dam u've been waiting a long time!!!!! u'll be happy with the results tho if u tune it right and have a good set of cams/valvetrain

 

wait - so your running a Red at 23PSI with stock injectors and fuel pump?

wats wrong with 23 psi? the 255 went on today, but regardless who cares we arent road racing or anything! Just tryin it out to let people know what it does.. geeesh
remember, this was to try out... full boltons with 1000cc and all that happy jazz are goin on as soon as UPS comes... im not gonna blow his car up haha

 

Not road racing, but you did redline pulls? Do you have a wideband to tune on with a RRFPR? I wouldn't really trust you working on my car but sounds like you had fun.

 

^If you read his post, he said he did a log of the pull. Saw some knock so he made adjustments.

seeing people run out fuel on stock pump with stock turbo, i wouldnt even try a red without injectors/fuel pump in it first. but to each his own

 

Yes, i understand everything, i did 3 pulls, plus one to show my buddy how it was, the car is'nt ging to be in boost until we finish.... like i said, ITS A TEST! UPS better hurry up and get here! also, its not like i can lower the boost.... just with the solenoid we spike 24... the mbc on the lowest setting held 22...

The wideband isnt on yet either, and im not doing the final tune.. jus makin it drivable with no knock... this car will be TUNED BY DAPPER DAN!
