Locked out and messed up paint

I was locked out of my car ( EVO 9 ) a couple of days ago so I called a locksmith. He put in an inflatable wedge to pull the door away from the body, then used a flexible metal rod to turn the door lock knob. The metal rod damaged the paint on the leading edge of the rear door. How would I best fix this?

Could always buy something to cover it maybe... Sorry to hear, I did that to myself also, but didn't want a locksmith to jack anything up so I had to call my cousin to grab my spare at home and drive it all the way to me so I can get home from work...horrible experience!

Is that even actual paint like what is on the body. It almost looks like a rubber coating sort of. If you arent too **** and just want something cheap, just clean it up and use some black touch up. You know a body shop is going to charge a ton.

get some carbon fiber door pillars that should cover it up nicely.

That is black vinyl tape applied from the factory, not paint. You could probably find a bodyshop or the Mitsu dealership to replace it with a new piece of vinyl (I bet Mitsu even sells it).

I feel for you man. After a long day of work over the summer I managed to lock my keys in my trunk right before leaving. Luckily I was at a construction site so I managed to find a wedge and a long wire. After about 20 mins of messing around with it I was able to flip the lock open. Although I didnt scratch that black outer piece I scratched some paint on the inside on my car right on the body...it sucks but at least mine isnt visible until you open up the door.

Maybe you can try some touch up paint followed by some light wetsanding. Personally I have never been successful with touch up paint however I am sure with some patience you will be able to make it good as new! Good luck

Locksmith probably would have been cheaper.
