Whats the evo 8/9 on this board with the highest mileage?

hey guys,

I was just thinking one day about the reliability and life span of these cars, and I've been wanting to know whats the highest mileage daily driven evos can run without any major problems. If you got high mileage, please list mods and if u did all your maintenance, and maybe any problems u've experienced...

long live the evo!

thanks for the input!

yea this is my daily driver and i plan on having this car for a while...im talk a longggg time. like my dad has an 89 mirage hatchback, and it has about 140,000 and is still running strong. I know an evo is a mitsu just like the mirage but the mirage aint no evo so thats why i brought up this question!

103,000ish right now. AX'd, tracked, daily driven, long trips. You name it, she has done it.

It all depends on how you take care of the car. Take care of the car, it will take care of you. Feel a bit like the guy from Transporter there...

TC, diff, trans - change the fluids every 10-15k. Rest is general car fun.

You also need to take into consideration the conditions under which the miles were driven. 90k Miles at steady interstate speeds is nowhere near as harsh on the vehicle as 90k Miles driven in heavy Stop and Go city traffic.

basically more mods will equal less reliability...cuz it will put more stress on the parts, etc....like the clutch for example or the tranny....alot of it depends on if you know what you are doing and how you drive the car...but if you keep it in stock condition and drive it reasonably i'm sure it will last a very long time....i'm at 35k and no problems

i'll be at 60k by March which will be a total of 2yrs driven since I bought new in march of '07. mine are all highway miles to work and back. we drive the wifes car on the weekends and around local areas. For awhile I thought I'd end up being one of the highest mileage evo on this board as far as stock motor with no failures but I have an FP Red sitting on my dining room table along with cams, meth, etc.......well 500whp isn't going to last forever so I'll probably build the motor next winter.

I just hit 80k. I have no idea what it's putting down at the wheel but I'd assume around 320-340 @ 23 psi, dunno. I'll find out this week if I can.

I am on the stock clutch still. I did a compression test just last night and have 160+ on all 4 with #3 actually showing almost 175. My leakdown showed no cylinder with more than 7% LD. Regular fluid changes and new timing belt are the only real maintenance I have had to do.

80k miles and mine had a sudden blow up. Detonation = broken ringland. The car is solid besides that. While it is down i am doing a water pump, timing belt, fluid changes, and then hopefully it will be good to go after all that. Maybe it will last another 80k miles!

126k miles. 3 hard Sierra Nevada winters. A season of auto-x, lots of late night highway miles, and still my daily driver. Cams, upgraded injectors, o2 housing, two clutches, two sets of shocks and struts, 4 sets of tires, two sets of brake pads, waaaay to many oil changes, and the only complaint I have is that my headlight indicator light went out on my dash.

Might have me by 23k...but - 8-10 sets of tires, 7-8 sets of brake pads, 2 clutches also, 4 sets if susp

Glad to see I am not alone!
