When should I get an Ev0
well the 04 evo's arent coming out anytime soon I just talked one of my good friends that works at the mistubishi dealership here he said they wont be out till next summer
Dude, seriously buy it now.It is the greatest, most fun car you'll ever drive (in my opinion). BTW you can easily get it up to 300 horse and I heard that the six speed in the evo isn't all that great. If you have kazaa download Evo8 vs. WRX Sti
Everyone hit it on the head here. You're not going to get one direct from Mitsu with 300hp, AYC, etc. Buy one now. It's not going to get any better for a couple years. Who knows about 6 speed or AYC if we're ever going to get it.
Get one now with the proven technology on it, put a couple grand into mods and you'll be way more than 300hp.
No use in waiting.

Aren't you guys tired of this?? Why do people keep asking should I get it.....when should I get it......should I get the 03 or wait for the 04......blah..blah..blah....
Almost everyone on this forum who has an evo will tell you if you are going to get it, just get it now. Like someone here is going to tell you........"oh no...don't get it....wait until the 2010 model, it will have 1000hp, 10 speed, etc, etc....!!! If you have already decide you want it, just get it, if you haven't decided yet, I will tell you not to get it at all!

Usually, end of model year gives some great buying opportunities, usually through near-invoice pricing and manufacturer incentives...
But with the 2003 Evo, no factory incentives, and invoice is only $1,800 less than msrp. Local dealer will sell me a nice one for ab out $600 over invoice, or about $1200 less than MSRP. A good incentive, but not a huge incentive to not just wait for an '04...

It's funny how people can quibble over such proportionally small amounts of money and miss out on such a great opportunity!
Is there truth in that the future Evos could be built anywhere but Japan?
I also don't see the need for 6 speeds here in the US - we don't have autobahns. This 5 speed is perfect, geared better than anything I've driven except the Ms. I'd rather have a simpler machine with this Evo than the extra weight, expense, complication, and maintenance of the JDM goodies. From what I read this Evo handles to within a RCH of the JDM. From what I've felt this car will run circles around an E36 M3 the "old" best handling car in the world for X many $'s.
(Wit gramma like dat I wonder if he even has a job to afford an Evo?
