JDM: It is for the HID light adjusters. Not fog lights or brights, just the standard HID low beams. I have a 06 USDM IX MR SE and that same icon is located on the dial on the left side of the dash to control the height of the lights. I hear that if the car is fully loaded the angle of the headlights can be blinding to the oncoming traffic, so you can turn the lights down toward the road more to keep this from happening.

I don't know what it does exactly, but that is what the icon signifies.

hmm, we got a mystery,lol.
It's weird they would have a different configuration for the JDM cluster.
Seems to be a waste of $, just have it mph and km, all else the same.
My 06 IX MR USDM has a different configuration completely.

My best guess, just throwing it out there is.
Looking at where it's placed in the cluster next to the other diagnostic lights.
It almost looks like a burnt out bulb indicator. it's in the same place and color as the other warning lights. as where the lights on and fog indicators are all the way up and out of the way.
Just weird that they put it in that spot and that color, if it wasnt a warning light.

Have you checked your lights? do they all work?
Sorry I can't help any more. someone will chime in and let ya know 100%.

I think the last two posts may have the closest answer, it could be the HID bulb sensor light. Guess you will find out if your bulb goes out.

It actually did last month, the RH HID bulb went and the indicator stayed OFF.
I'm assuming that it has something to do the auto focus feature as if observed closely the are two arrows, one pointing up and the other down. I'm just curious as to how this feature is operated/controlled

To me it looks like the headlight is moving, i.e. it may light up if the lights are adjusting, until it stops.

The lights are most likely auto adjusting, and that light is indicating that the lights are adjusting after you start the car. The light will probably come on if there is an error in the auto-adjust system or while the system is adjusting.

This actually sounds logical, but what variables would be used to Pre-determine the adjustment ???

Angle the car is in. Try parking it and put it up on ramps in the front and turn on the ACC and see what happens and if they adjust.

What is the ACC ???
Angle interms of the car entire gradient level eg. driving on steep incline, the lights will point up???

I'm not sure exactly what the system uses, but lots of cars have systems like this. The most reliable sensor would be something on the suspension, as it would allow the headlights to be adjusted for weight distribution without having the road incline affect the adjustment.
