Open Door Light Stays On

starting yesterday my open door indicator light stays on. i checked to make sure all the doors are fully closed and they are. i know it's not that big of a deal but it's annoying to have it stay on like that. my car doesnt honk when i lock the doors and the lights don't blink either because the car still thinks a door is open. whenever i open a door the light is brighter and when i close the door the light dims again, but stays on. the only thing i did yesterday was wash my car. what do you guys think the problem is?

Uh ohh. Could be the door switch is stuck open or this being that you said you washed your car.

water leak to a connector or, what gsrboi said, door switch. check the wiring harness under the dash in the drivers left kickpanel and see if any thing is wet. or you can open the doors and press all the door switches at the same time and see if the lights work. good luck!

well i opened each door one at a time and pressed the switch and the light dims so i'm guessing they're working properly. the light turned off once this morning but other than that it still stays on. i'll check the wiring in the kick panel.

I've always wondered if a super loud sub or loud exhaust could slowly rattle the wiring and bolts loose on our cars. Maybe not though...

Apparently the water is getting in a switch somewhere completing a circuit. That is why when it dries the light is working normally.
