I'm pretty sure an aftermarket JDM will be cheaper than an oem (usdm) bumper. I think I've seen the JDM's for 600.00, and I was quoted at a body shop of getting the usdm for 763.00, and I think that's cheaper than another place I was at.

The jdm ix bumper isn't cheap either. It used to be $500 but those days are long gone.
Most places charge $600 plus $150 for shipping.
Example from vendor on this forum:
http://www.gruppe-s.com/Evo/evoext.htm
That $750 includes shipping but its the same thing as stated above.

Im glad I bought mine a year ago when they weren't so expensive...but buy one.....they look awesome!

If your going to order from Gruppe-s just call them. Im pretty sure the viii and ix bumpers are the same fitment.....so the jdm ix bumper fits both.

Gruppe-s is a great vendor and can probably give you a better deal than the price on their webpage I posted.

Good luck.....and make sure to modify your rear crash beam. (The two arms holding the beam need to be cut about 1.5 inch and rewelded or the beam won't fit) Most members just throw it out........DONT DO THAT....your car would have had much more damage today without it, plus your insurance company would not be happy to see that missing.

Use the Search on this forum about modding the beam if you don't know what im talking about.

It will fit, its was made for the IX in japan but we didn't get the nice look. It will fit and its better deal but try to find someone who has it in stock, or you will be waiting....
