wait.. you want a new engine because yours is high mileage? are there any problems with your motor or you just want less miles on it? seems silly.... especially when you could just refresh your current motor.
besides for an 06 swap, you would nee a lot more than just the motor. need an 06 ecu, and then there might be an issue with yours not having acd. not sure if the ecu would be compatible. im sure someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in on that one.

Use all that money and just build your motor.

Yep basically everything inside is either replaced or freshened up. Lot easier than a swap by far. How many miles are on your engine now?

+1 on building the motor. Upgrade with fresh pistons/rods/rings/ etc.

no.
but what you could do is build the motor, it would essentially be like brand new. your mileage will not go away, as its illegal to tamper with your odometer.

i cant believe im giving this so much thought

Is it using oil or water? What is leading you to believe it's shot? Mine has 78K and is stronger than the day I bought it. Doesn't use oil or have any leaks.

Search around, many shops on this site do this and it would depend on how wild you decide to go.

there are any number of companies and ways to freshen up your motor from cheap drop in pistons/rods to a full out build. you have a lot to learn and the search button is your friend. this thread is giving me a headache. i really hope youre not this dense
