Function or Form?
I personally go for power, but not that I'm at a relyable 350 +/- whp on tap, I want to play with that for awhile and enjoy it. This winter it'll probably get cams, ETS front mount and a few other little power adders to break the 400 wheel mark where it will remain until the car is paid off.
As for the looks, I wasn't really all that concerned with them for awhile, now I've done a bit, and thinking about doing a few more little things.
All in all, I think it's about balance and what puts the smile on YOUR face every day when you see and then drive your car. You pay for it, not us.

if it already looks nice in stock form....then focus on improving function.
then focus on improving form after function.
Fast cars usually attract dudes.
Visually nice cars attract chicks.
I say find the balance to make your car whoop *** on the track AND make it look nice for the girlies at the same time.
