Has anyone tried to repaint their radio plate? I'd like to get some one of those gauge cluster ones but I looked ahead and I don't have the money to spend on getting that and other senors wired right now. There's some scuff marks on my faceplate that sort of annoy me. I looked at the CF wing repainting topics but don't know if it's the same since I know painting on plastic is a ***** since it doesn't bond very good.

 

get the duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint it holds up pretty good

 

ive used krylon fusion on some of my pieces, came out great. just remember to take the sticker rings off instead of taping around them

Ok thanks. Did you sand at all or just do a light sanding to make it rough? Any clear coats? I'll probably do this next month when it's warmer and night school is over with.

 

Mine is custom painted- but its the triple gauge radio plate..

 

Hmmm... gives me an idea now. Buy a giant sticker that looks good, put it on, trim it carefully as hell, and then clear coat the thing.

Not yet- waiting for gauges to come in, it matches the paint in my engine bay
