Ok so my car got rear ended around this time last year got everything fixed except for this it comes off the charcoal canister and looks like it had a filter where the hole is. but instead it was wrapped in TAPE 
ive been getting a cel for the past two months so that probably means their crappy fix finally gave out and iam wondering if this is to blame. Also the code is P0450

Hmm its strange though it looks like it would have something to cover the hole it also looks like it got some water inside of it cause theres mud along the inside of the whit plastic piece. Could water affect the operation of the charcoal canister?
just gonna take a guess. clean out the mud if there is some in there, and stick it back in. idk why it would be taped off thou. no fluid flows through there right, just gases. maybe thats why you had the code, cuz the tape was blocking it. just shooting in the dark
