I hear you man. I ride dirt, and the camaraderie on two wheels has no equal.

I own a bike as well, and most of my vacation time is spent in the Ozark mountains or the Texas hill country with either my bike buddies or car buddies (I take several trips in both vehicles each year). You just have to find the right group, or make the group yourself. There is exactly what your your looking for given the right combination of guys.

Sweet! My riding buddy has a bunch of sea kayaks too!. If you are ever on the west coast you should check out Channel Islands National Park. You can kayak the caves on the east side of Santa Cruz island, and camp there too! Island Packers is the one you want to contact to set up a trip. And yes, there are great white sharks in these waters! This doesn't stop the kayaks or scuba divers though...

That seems like a trip to work up to. For now it's flat water to learn, then the Hudson River and the LI sound.

Sucks you're not in central P.a or north jersey. Everyone up here at school loves going down the highway for roll on's in their mustangs and camaro's. It's just soo old. If i wanted a fast straight line car i would've said slap on a 42r and screw everyone else. But tearing up some backroads/canyons is the most fun i could ever have in any car. Ride in a fast car(<10 sec) for a while and it just doesn't do it for you anymore. Then you explore the option's of getting sideways

Honestly I say I want a group of people to go hang out and ride around but either I'm getting old for it (32 this year) or I'm lying to myself. I've had 2 sport bikes (buying a 1000rr next year or the year after) and everytime I had my bike I would always sauy I was going to find a group to go hang out but I never bothered because in ATl there are a ton of bike hangouts every Thursday night but they are doing the same thing car owners typically do.....sitting down talking and eating. I want to go riding.....EFF that.

I don't make enough of an effort because the few times I did I was super disappointed. I promised myself that I would try to go to some random EVO meets and stuff (Like the one coming up this weekend), but something always comes up (like my car being down currently for the last 3 months almost).

I think my other problem is I have been gung ho to meet people before and they were very clique-ish (esp. in the motorcycle community here). I'm super friendly but really shy when I first meet people so it doesn't take much for me get the hint if some is being a little standoffish.

I'm such a friggen guber. I have friends I have met through cars but they are into other stuff then me (Showing out, just chilling out at the house, etc). In Toronto I had a group of like 10 friends (this is 13-15 years ago) and we ALL had civics (and one second gen Integra GS). We used to ride around so much that people started to notice randomly from all over the city. If one person was riding out then he was getting escorted by at least 5 of us (car modding was still relatively fresh and strictly an asian thing back then so we were something of an anomaly).

I'm just rambling now. Good luck
