Something wrong with my baby??????

Why is it sometimes when I get on her in 2nd gear it seems as if the car is spinning the wheels. Kinda like a hesitation? This the clutch? Thanks in advance!

What is happening exactly? Please provide more info.

Are you shifting into 2nd and the rpms shoot up but you don't have any power to the wheels? If that's the case, then your clutch is most likely slipping.

Sounds like your clutch is slipping... does it sound like the clutch spin and RPS went flying but no acceleration power?

cruise in 5th gear at 2k rpm and floor it if your rpm shoot up without your speedo then your clutch is slipping

that's the simplest way to do it

Very true. However mild slipping of the clutch can't be calculated like this. If your clutch is just starting to slip or is slipping mildly it'll do it sometimes and not others. It'll show at certain times on the road and what not. It's safe to say it'll get worse as you go though. Start saving for a clutch....lol...i am.

well if i am in 5th gear and hammer on the gas... it like bogs out, and yes the rpms rev up, but do not go anywheres... and my buddy before i bought it had told me he put a new clutch in it which was in december, and he is telling me he put an ebay XTD clutch in it... the local shop here quoted me $600 for just the clutch install, i be looking at close to $1500 for an ACT Clutch and flywheel and installation... that sound pretty good or too much???

What everyone else said.....A good clutch and run you a good amount of change. Better start collecting those pennies.

Yeah the XTD is most likely your problem.

The 1500 intalled on the ACT and flywheel is on the money. you would be better off buying something a little better if you can afford it, otherwise your just going to burn that one up too. I got about 18k miles out of my act before I burnt it up. this was on a 350 whp car, and about 7 track days.
