Gauges quiestion

Hi, I want to put some gauges in my car, but have some Qs:

1. I live in Mexico, where can I buy gauges and a gauge pod that ships internationally (I tried lancershop.com, but they dont)

2. Im just thinking about boost and O2 wideband, Im not sure if I should buy a 3rd one, what do you recommend?

3. Why is a control unit needed for some gauges?

4. Which is the best brand?

Yes I DID search and found some answers except #1.

Thanx for your help

1. Can't help you on this. Try Gruppe-S, darkside motorsports....I'm sure one of the forum vendors can help you.

2. By Turbo I think you mean boost, Wideband (Zeitronix on the high side...not even a gauge, AEM UEGO, Prosport) and if you want three, the guy who helps me with my car suggested Oil Pressure instead of oil temperture and Water Temp.

3. Control unit isn't needed...some (Only Defi comes to mind) have a control unit system to allow for extra functionality not generally available in gauges (replay etc).

4. Best is subjective. There are some that believe all gauges are off to a certain degree. There are some that believe if its a name brand company (HKS, Greddy, Apex'i, DEFi) then it will be good, some don't have 700+ to spend on gauges and control Unit (DEFi). I don't think too many people here use Autometer although I'm sure there are people that use them and say they are fine/accurate.

I personally have the DEFi setup with the control unit. I've always loved the BF series. Prosport makes gauges that are similar in style and according to the representative on this site are just as accurate as the more expensive gauges.

I have the AEM oil pressure, AEM wideband, and boost gauge.. Wideband is very important just as the boost gauge. If you break something inyour motor and you plan on salvaging some of it, that oil pressure gauge can help you out a ton... just my 2 cents

I've got a Mitsubishi OEM accessory gauge kit that installs center DIN under the radio for Evo 8, though should work on the 9 as well?
