Cost no object
I have a few mods, but I am wondering if there is any consensus on what the BEST parts with no consideration of cost are for the Evo. Specifically, I am talking about a) turbo set-ups, b) brake kits, c) cooling parts (oil coolers, radiators, intercoolers, etc), d) gearboxes, e) suspension (though I think the Ohlins setup is considered #1). I am not asking about bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, etc.) because there are 10 million opinions out there and I am already happy with my RMR parts. However, the other upgrades will happen in the future, so I want to know what the pinnacle is. I will work my way down if I have to, but my goal is get the best of everything. If there is anything I have omitted that someone has a specifically good knowledge of, please feel free to speak up. Also, please don't turn this into a "Well XYZ is better because I have one" thread. I just want to know if there are certain models of the above products that are just absolutely the best items available. Thanks!

I think it all depends. In my eyes:
a) Right now, I'd think that HKS has the best turbo setup. Could be wrong, haven't really looked into it too deeply, yet.
b) Brakes - Stoptech, Brembo, or even AP.
c) Varies depending on what you want to do.
d) No idea.
e) I think Ohlins is #1.
You're always going to get XYZ is better because of ABC kind of answers. To each their own in this. Read reviews, look at the product, make a judgement call for yourself.

I am thinking HKS is the best so far, too - I wish XS Engineering would come out with something for the Evo - only good things from them, too. As for brakes, AP Racing's 6-pot front, 4-pot rear setup looks like the best. The cooling questions are primarily for added reliability, not power adding. The only other gearboxes I know of are the RMR dog-box and the HKS sequential ($10K+). Ohlins is the **** as far as I know. The reason I ask for consensus is because there might be some people who have had good or bad experiences or maybe even some shops that have further insight. I figure I can make one serious mod ($5-$10K) per year and then have a monster.

Call JUN, Bozz or HKS and tell them you want the Tsukuba Time Attack package. Then box your car up and UPS it over to them with your American Express card laying in the front seat then just sit back and wait.No but seriously. Perhaps it isn't the sum of a group of high dollar parts that will make your car great, but simply putting it in the hands of those that know how to build them from top to bottom. Whether they use all their own parts like HKS, or a mixture like BOZZ I guess would just be a matter of personal preference.
Finding a shop is not a problem (XS Engineering for the turbo/plumbing work, RMR for the rest). I am not opposed to using different brands, but I don't want to Frankenstein each system. This is why I requested help in this thread. If I were to use an HKS turbo, then I will use and HKS exhaust manifold, etc. If I use a JUN stroker, then I will use JUN cams, etc. I don't want to mix components in a system. If I use an Ohlins suspension, I am not going to use X brand springs with Y brand dampers - you know? The key is to find the most reliable, proven units in the categories. Thank you all for the input - I am open to any new ideas.
