i understand what you are saying but i dont see how this actually happens. when i launch at 6k ish. it will hook and the rpms will fall a slight bit and the car will take off quick then the clutch GRABS and we drive off to like 7400 just like any time you would accelerate through first. then the shift to second is normal.

from what i am understanding of your situation it seems that your clutch is slipping all the way till your engine hits its redline, then you shift to second before your cars tire speeds were actually where they should be for the engine rpm you were showing when you shifted. try to understand w/e i just wrote, might be confusing but that is what i am understanding

I would hope he's not slipping the clutch all the way to redline, I'm sure he's not.

What he's saying (I think) is that when you rev higher before you slip it, it grabs at a higher rpm, faster launch, thus making you shift faster. Not slipping it all the way through 1st gear, that's useless...

not sure if anyone cares anymore but... i just launched my car and this is what it was like. revlimit at 6k... the revs basically stayed at 6k until my clutch grabbed when the wheels (clutch) matched up with the 6k rpms. it only took about a second but for that second i guess that means the clutch was slipping. its always been this way and yeah it smelt pretty damn bad

maybe im the idiot, and i need a new clutch???

How slow did you let out on the clutch?
You don't want to replace a t-case as well

you have to learn the preload the car when you launch it. then you wont break anything. takes some time to get it down and if you cant get it down, it could get expensive

yes. this is what i do. i slip it up till the car starts to move then i just let it go.

maybe i should have lowered the 2step until i can get the hang of it. i just think its cuz my stock clutch has been in there for 60k. w/e thou, if i havnt been doing it right im pretty sure i havnt damaged that much yet being as this is like the 3rd or 4th launch i have done

well what do you think is up. is it my error? i think i have the general concept down correct dont I? is the slipping just due to the long used clutch that idk what had been though before i owned the car?
