Is something wrong with your car? If there isn't, it shouldn't come on.

the check engine light is supposed to come on when you turn the key to the "on" position and when you start the car for a short period of time then shut off.

It has either burnt out or been removed. It's an easy and shady way for dealers to get a car to pass smog.

I looked at the car up and down, drove it, previously owned the same model. It isn't like I was going to take the entire engine apart, remove the exhaust system, take apart the transmission, and all to confirm the claims he made about the modifications done. You have to take someone at their word for a decent amount of what they say when purchasing a car (receipts help, but damn... he didn't show me the receipt for the CELE... haha). I know you'll disagree with this, since you love to disagree with me, so we'll just agree to disagree and leave it at that. Thanks.
