dam dude thats f***** up i had some kids just f*** up my driver side doors and i havnt seen my car in 2 weeks cuz of getn repaired.... So i feel ya on that man. Good luck getn her fixd and getn her bak.
This is definitely an unfortunate event. It could have turned out a lot worse though. What comes around goes around.

That completely sucks. Unless you own the car outright, I don't think the insurance company will just give you cash. They will either pay the bank or the shop doing the work. But, GL finding everything to bring it back to the condition you left it in. I wouldn't replace them with a "junk yard" price......definitely make your insurance company replace them with brand new. That's why we pay for insurance!
Like i said all the cars I;ve owned progressive cuts the check after the estimate. I know the body shop owner but most shops will be cool if you want to buy something else with the money (Bride's vs OEM) etc....they don't care as long as they are getting paid for the most part. You aren't doing anything illegal.

Hopefully you eventually get a call from the police about a guy getting arrested for something stupid and you can make his life miserable to the tune of a few thousand dollars in a civil suit to compensate you for your pain & suffering.

Sorry to hear about this bro. Hope all gets worked out and whom ever did this gets smashed. Man I dont want to hear about these stories happening to close to me. This type of story makes me want to some POS so I wont have to worry about them ****ing with my beutiful Evo (whenever I get one)...
