No pick-up in acceleration?
Hi guys, this is such a noobish question, but I figured I'd ask either way. I'm having some issues with my evo 8. It's got about 94, 2XX on the clock now, and just the other day I noticed it has absolutely no pick-up. I was stuck at 60 mph the other day on i95. I'm unsure on how to explain it the correct way.
In first, it feels about normal, a little slower but about the same. When shifting to second, there is absolutely no pick-up, or boost, so to say. Third and forth is the same story as I accelerate and feel the car just dragging.
I said it might be a boost leak but I was told that it would be extremely hard to tell if there was a leak unless I was pushing it hard. The car has been driven like a baby for the past 2 years that I've had it. I'm sure it could be a dozen different things. I just was wondering if anyone experienced a situation such as this one, before I bring it in to the shop.
Thanks in advance

Check your IC pipes and make sure they are in and tightened down well (preferably using T-Bolt clamps)
If that checks out, run a boost leak test:

No, in limp mode it will not hit 60mph. And she would definately know it was in limp mode if it was (speaking from experience).
Blown turbo? That would be my guess.....what you describe is what it feel like driving an Evo making no boost. With my AEM I blow a LICP loose and drove for a while (no limp mode with AEM), the car seemed like.........driving a Lancer.......slow as hell.
Did you throw a CEL? If so, (and you don't have an OBD II scanner) run it down to your local auto parts store and they can scan it and tell you what's going on.
If you didn't throw a CEL, you might want to check the WGA. For some reason when I first got my Evo, when the WGA would open the flapper, it would bind up on the inside of the O2 housing causing it to be stuck open all the time. The car would sound normal driving (pulling out, sound like it's making boost) but it had no pick-up. This is an easy check, just pop the hood and inspect the WGA arm to see if it's extended. Take a pic and post if you're unsure.
Not saying that this IS your problem, but it sounds close to me.
