Cigarrette Lighter Push Start

Hey guys,

I found a thread on here that interested me a lot. Someone used their stock cigarette lighter as a push start button, has anyone here done that as well, and if so, is there any how-to's?

Here is the thread I'm referring to...

Thanks!

you still need the key to be in the ignition and on posistion. You just splice the starter wirer to the cig lighter

Would the key still work without the lighter?

You still have to turn the key the majority of the way you normally do, then push the button. Why not just continue to turn the key and crank the car the normal way? Seems like a waste of $$$

the thread that I had read about someone doing this said that it did not cost anything to do the mod...and it could be kind of like an theft deterrent since most people won't know you have to push down on the cig lighter to turn the car on...not saying it'll stop someone from stealing if they want it, they'll find a way to have it.

but yea other than that, it's just kinda cool lol

^pretty chill. did you splice the wires so that you can still use it the normal way or just straight button? it would be even better if you relocated the ignition to the ash tray... like a saab
