Hello there guys i know im a newbie around here this is my first post and sadly is to request help to rebuilt my front end. i buy the evo last week and 2 days ago after i wash the car i park the car outside the house and a neighbor that almost hit a boy on the street turn rapidly and lets say my car was defense.

I have a list of what i will need of course seen from outside like bumper fmic, oil cooler fenders hood radiator ac consensor but i hope that somebody here can point me a good dealer to buy the parts nad also to hear some experts advices on what should i replace.

Take it to a reputable body shop and let them do it. Those kind of jobs there aren't the DIY kind unless you work at a body shop or have a friend that works at a body shop. Getting everything to line up again is a PITA. The guy that hit your car should be paying for it so take it to a GOOD body shop and get an estimate.

No i dont have full coverage since the car was going to be insured this week, i dont even get the car out for that reason, im asking this help cause i will have to source all the parts by myself and then take it to a good body shop, so if somebody can point a good dealer with good prices will apreciate that, and also what can you see in the pictures that i will need besides from the obvious parts.

IMO.... your screwed! unless you can get the other guys insurance to pay for it! you need a minimum of $8000 (just a guesstimation). My question is... why was the car out if it isnt insured?! How the hell did you register it uninsured?

^^^Very good question. Glad you didn't hit someone else. Driving on the road uninsured is absolutely idiotic. On to the question, like others have said, take it to a body shop....also, 8K sounds about right for the repairs.

 

ha $8k...if he buys used parts. We fixed an Evo in the shop in about the same shape or probably better off and it was around $16K. NOW, he CAN get used parts and even aftermarket parts cheaper or as cheap as oem. Trust me, I saw the bill, $800 for an OEM intercooler i.e.

Off the top of my head
Hood & latch
2 fenders
bumper
lip
undertray
2 headlights
radiator
condenser
fans
radiator support
intercooler pipes
oil/transmission cooler possibly both
probably airbox, snorkle and maf sensor
inner fenders
anti-freeze reservoir
Are the wheels ok?



Disassemble EVERYTHING and save what you can. All your bolts and nuts will add up. Save the vents from your hood if they are ok. Put them in a bag and label them.

 

If yo had another car insured and just bought the evo, I think you have a grace period with your insurance company for insuring it. At least thats what I've been told. Regardless, why isn't the person who hit it paying for it?

 

Im in the same boat, but I brought the car wrecked... Good luck, I picked up a service manual, it helps put things in a better view, unless you know someone else with another evo locally, that can swing by and compare what you need...

 

Ok for the people up that say that how i register the carn uninsured and luckily i dont hit nobody like i explain if you reed, the car was parked outside the house and a neightbor was the one who hit and crashed against my car i was inside my house when i hear the noise, i have the apointment with my insurance company this week thats why i didnt have chance to drive the car.

So call it bad luck if you want but i need to repair the car for obvious reasons so please read after you say " you are idiotic for driving without insurance" so thanks ill apreciate the help of people who really want to do it.

Yes my estimate goes around 9 k. and that is buying some aftermarket parts like fmic oil cooler etc, and the crash was just in the front dont hit wheels or doors or anithing like that.

i have a very similar list like 600rr post but i thing ill have to dissasembly to se any hidden damage.

Any good delares you guys know that carry lancer oem parts for good prices???

im sorry this story does not add up at all. what you saying is complete BS. if you have a car whether insured or NOT and it is hit by another person that is INSURED(maybe neighbor is not if thats the case you need to sue him) then its his responsiblilty to pay for the damages regaurdless if yours is insured or NOT. now if mother nature damages your car its on YOU. if you were driving uninsured and YOU HIT something or someone its your fault. i Seriously doubt your dumb enough to fix a car you dont have to pay for at all unless your trying ot find some way to weasel out on the money to fix the evo properly so you an get some upgraded parts. I would not recommend that as you never know how bad the damage actually is and from those pics might even beconsidedered totalled by insurance company of his. so before you come on here asking for help when its not need you should be getting a check from his insuracne to cover this mess of course unless its actually your fault which is sounds like it is

Well you sound very sure that is my fault and im inventing a story to cover up that i dont know how to drive or maybe i have an accident, and if that was the case i just will tell it and thats it.

Istead of posting something contructive all you are doing is been the "badboy" of the forum and if you are not posting anithing related to help or what im asking please dont write at all.

The guy who hit the car is fully covered and the insurance company is going to send somebody to see the damages but i dont think it will be declared totalled, and the reason im looking for the parts myself is because his insurance policy in this particular cases when the affected is not involved or have any guilty, can source the parts introduced the invoice and the insurance company will cover all the damages, i dont think nobody here wants to take his evo to any regular cheap body shop and let them replace you parts with chinese crap.

So please once again if you want to help your comment will be more than welcome, if you want to say BS please dont do it, this is forum conmunity to help other people not a place to have fun with other people problems.
