Lightbulb Insurance...revisited...

I just received my renewal notice from GEICO, and they have finally updated their computers...they had previously listed my Evo as a Lancer ES, but now it shows it as a Lancer Evo AWD, with a corresponding increase in premiums...not too much, though...they didn't tack on a vehicle performance surcharge like they did when I had the Vette.

Do you mind telling me how old you are, what your old rates were vs the current ones? I'm due for renewal in a few months and I hvae a really good rate right now, but since I'm 21, I'm afraid, heh.

I am 38 and married, with a clean driving record, plus I have a bunch of discounts for various things, like credit union membership and multi-vehicle discounts, so my rates will be way different from yours. Changing the rating from the Lancer ES to the Evo bumped up the premium for that car about 25%, which is not bad considering the Evo costs more than twice as much as the ES. It's still cheaper than insuring a Corvette.
