What is this brace/ stiffener for?
i see a-lot of evo's with the blue bar behind the grill and i was wondering, what is its purpose, also who makes them?
^I have heard it called the power brace also. It is made by Cusco. I dont believe that it is a crash beam but rather a brace to stiffen up the front of the evo chassis. On top of that it sure does look cool.
I have the Cusco front power brace, along with the whole set for the underside.
Supposed to tighten up the front end in turning.
You have to remove your oem front crash beam to put it on.
And is a tight fit if you have an Aftermarket FMIC.
Barely fits with my AMS IC. which is 3.5" deep.
I Can't really say that it does anything, but it looks cool.
I didnt notice any difference.
But it weighs alot less than the oem piece.

I had one but when I realized you had to replace the front crash beam I sold it, I would rather have safety than cool looks. Plus, my luck I would get in a wreck and the insurance company would freak out about taking off the crash beam. Function>Form
