Fender Rolling Mishap

i rolled my rear fenders myself yesterday and since it was my first time i think i messed up my fender. the roll is nice and i used a heat gun to prevent the paint from cracking, but after i finished i looked at my fender and realized that i pushed it out more than what it used to be. i think i put too much pressure on the roller in one spot with out moving it. when i look parallel to my fender i can see the lump in the fender where i pushed it out. my question is, do you think this is gonna be a cheap and easy fix?

you could make other side match

or just have the lump fixed and repaint fender. making sure to keep your roll as you want it

Does it bulge THAT much? Pics?
Guess you can try rolling it back - not sure exactly how to do that safely without messing up the paint.

i'll try to take some pics right now. i was thinking about trying to roll it back from the outside while using a heat gun to prevent the paint from cracking. i just need to figure out how to angle the fender roller properly.

No...do not try to do that. You will make it worse. I didn't do that to my fenders, but I have seen it happen to plenty of other people that rolled it flat against the fender.

Basically what you are supposed to do is remove the bolt from the rear bumper that attaches to the fender when you do the roll to take the stress off of it and then put the bolt further back.

But it's too late for that now, alot of people just live with it. If it bothers you that much you can take it to a body shop and see if they can do anything with it.

I did my rear fenders a few nights ago...definitely have to be careful doing the rear of the arch near the bump...mine look pretty even but I took my time and was really careful about it

Do you have pics of doing yours? Any suggestions you might make? I am doing mine tonight. Haven't done it before but watched lots of vids and read as much as I can to properly do it. Have a heatgun and an eastwood roller...now just to find the nuggets to try and do it

it's hard to get a good picture of it since i my car is black and the sun was shining directly on it. i'll try to take pics when the sun sets or something. just take your time! never leave the roller in one spot for too long! keep moving the roller and keep adjusting the roller accordingly. there is also a spot weld near the middle of the rear fender that will make a loud pop once you break it. don't be alarmed. if you don't pop the weld you will feel a lump when you slide your fingers across the rolled fender. let me know if you have any other questions.
