MR to RS Conversion

I'm looking to add or should I say take away some of my car into a RS model. I want the anti-lock brakes but not the sound deadening. Exactly what sound proofing is missing from the RS (door card, floor, engine bay???)? I run in BSP autocross class so I can only remove what the factory RS has removed. Pictures would be great.

are you gonna like... make your windows and door locks non-automatic and stuff or just the sound deadening? That sounds like a lot of trouble.

I might do the windows, and locks in the future if I find a great deal on the parts but really right now I'm looking at the sound proofing. I just can't find out exactly what sound proofing is removed. All or Some?

Sell your MR and look for an RS! It is such a shame to do this! BOTH versions are hard to find and to strip one down to make it something else. Sound deadening I can understand, but...!

Here are pics of my RS when I first got it:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2785661

Some things I noticed compared to other IX's:

-> No power side mirrors, doors locks, windows
-> No center elbow rest behind the cup holders, just an open storage area
-> No "suede" arm rests on the doors
-> No sunglass holder
-> No radio
-> No foglights

Probably some other things I'm forgetting.

No I don't want to trade the 6 speed or the auto windows right now. I like the creature comforts but loud cars don't bother me. Thanks for the pictures. I now get to get everything out of my trunk.. Does you RS's have soundproofing behind the motor on the firewall?

I run BSP class in autocross. The rules for that class is I can mod my car to be like another model Evo. Example-I can take out the sound proofing like the RS model to save weight but I can't take out the rear seats to save weight because mitsubishi never produced a Evo without rear seats.

No I'll keep it if for when I decide to sell the car. I should lose way more than 2 pounds anyway regardless off what the carpet weighs.
